Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, Thailand.

My first trip to the prestigious Changhua Christian Hospital in central Taiwan 3 years ago in December of 2019 marked our beginning of coming together. Since then, in spite of this long-drawn-out threat of the COVID19 pandemic, Changhua Christian Hospital and Walailak University can still keep our invaluable partnership together through our successful annual international virtual conferences. Today, we still stand side by side to hold the 2021 international online conference on "The Impact and Response of Medical Professional Education in the Post-Pandemic Era." As President of Walailak University, a fast growing young university in the upper south of Thailand, I can promise that we will keep working together towards our mutual victory in cultivating best healthcare providers in Asia and in the world. Rest assured that our partnership started 3 years ago is progressing now through our strengthened collaboration towards successful healthcare services for the benefits of all human beings.

Ladies and gentlemen, history has proved that we human beings never give in to any problems, big or small. Today, we have advanced astounding application of artificial intelligence in healthcare that will ultimately optimize hyper-convenient care without compromising costs. We are also about to witness the marvel of biotechnology in genetic engineering and in cell and tissue culture technologies. Throughout history, human beings are capable of battling several waves of deathly pandemic, like Black Death that caused over 200 million deaths or Spanish flu that led to over 100 million deaths. I do believe that even though we are being twisted, spun and knocked out by this menacing COVID19, today's international collaboration will help us come out cleaner, brighter and better with medical advanced profits.

On this international collaboration occasion, may I also convey my warmest congratulations to Changhua Christian Hospital on the auspicious celebration of the Institution's 125th anniversary on November 29th, 2021. This longevity of CCH existence is a testament of its great achievements, and we wish CCH even greater success in the future.
